My name is Nasrin. I am a certified English Language Instructor. I have been teaching English language for 21 years and have been a certified IELTS and CELPIP instructor since 2015. My teaching background includes working with a wide variety of learners from diverse linguistic, cultural, and educational backgrounds with different learning styles in different language settings.
The story of how I became a language learner fan, and a language teacher, dates back a long time to when I felt a great responsibility in me to help my siblings, friends and relatives with their school subjects including English language lessons. On reflection, I can now understand that language learning back then, and language teaching since then, have been linked to my educational and professional life. It was this burning desire that triggered me to learn about peoples’ cultural attitudes and language behaviors across the world. This made me think seriously about language teaching as a professional career in the future. In addition, in my 9th grade at school, I was inspired by one of my mentors to pursue my academic education in language studies and teacher education. However, it was only after completing my bachelor’s degree that I truly realized how passionate and enthusiastic I was to teach others; and since then, I adhered to this commitment.
I have come a long way since my school days when my passion for language learning first began. My desire for teaching and learning language has been my constant companion along the way. My goal is to develop and keep an open and honest communicative and supportive language learning environment, in which each student feels safe, secure, special, and appropriately challenged to enjoy the pleasure of language learning and become a life-long independent learner.
